Let's do some death metal for change, this is Demise of New Zealand, whom some might remember from this post. Master Chris Rigby of Subcide Webzine and formerly of Convulsion, Meatyard, Chapel of Gristle (sorry, the Coven does not have anything from that one. Yet.) and presently Dying of the Light and The Skull sent me his rip of the first Demise demo the other week and I said I'd be posting it soon. Well, this is comparatively soon! Thanks again for the contribution and the psychedelic cover which is about twenty to thirty times cooler than the second demo's cover was.
Compared to the self-titled second tape, we have the same amount of tracks but they're much shorter and there are no intros or other additional special effects present. Song writing is also somewhat simpler and more direct, as expected of a debut cassette. Overall the rip sounds clearer and better than the one for demo II even with the slight sound fail on the first track. Old schoolish death metal is the name of the game and I find myself enjoying this one slightly more of the two tapes, simply due the superior sound. And the awesome cover.

Cheers :-) \M/
@Chris:
Thanks to yourself and the Chapel of Gristle mention was a subtle hint! ;)
Going OT, does anybody here have the Infernal Curse (Argentina) demos Black Forces of Evil and/or Necromass Incantations?
Okay I'll be quiet now and go listen to this Demise demo.
Hartelijk dank.
@kingpossum:
From '08 and '09, not me at least, sorry. I don't think I've ever heard their material either but I'll keep an eye out. Perhaps E.C. might have these?
Oh by the way what was the Arghoslent demo you were after earlier?
I have Chapel Of Gristle if you want it. Be warned that it's not death metal. This will give you an idea: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cht5EZgEUgk
@Chris:
Yeah, I'd actually like to hear it and I'm sure so will some of my readers! That clip sounded pretty interesting, I'm not very well versed with these genres but it reminded me of the Confusion Corporation tape I posted the other month, sorta industrial mixed with some grind? Were there many tapes recorded?
@Velkaarn:
Wow, good memory on Arghoslent. I think it was The Entity, which I later found included on the 90-94/First Three Demos collection.
Back OT, this Demise release is mega strong from start to finish. Great time shifts, tight playing and well paced. A great listen, much thanks to Chris Rigby and your illustrious self for the post. It'll send me back to a re-listen of the self-titled Demise demo.
@kingpossum:
Good that you were able to find the Arghoslent demo then! And yeah, I occasionally have surprising moments of clarity. ;)
Yeah, gotta agree on this demo, would've made a pretty nice EP actually. Had me going through a bunch of the other old NZ death/grind demos posted here earlier (reupped a few dead links too) and there were some really strong tapes there.
Hails!
And thanks Velkaarn & Chris for Demise upload!
@Velkaarn
Finally, I made it... soon you'll get link for Confusion Corporation demo what I promise to send you...
@Grev:
Great, I was thinking about that when I wrote the comment about Chapel of Gristle! Actually I've already downloaded it from Dropbox so you can remove it.
@Velkaarn
Yeah, I was too lazy to send it... sorry :)
