Here is, courtesy of Argus Monitor, the third and final issue of Skogen magazine from Switzerland - even though you might think it was from Norway when you look at the bands featured! Thank you Argus for scanning this, writing a foreword and sending me it. He did a good job, it is very readable even with the background graphics Sascha decided to use which make some pages pretty challenging. I guess I won't go on greater lenghts here, but I recommend you download this, read Argus' foreword and the 'zine itself!

This is absolutely fantastic! Thanks a million!

The foreword mentions the possibility of scanning issue # 2. If this would indeed materialize, that would be killer!!!

@Kurgan:

Thanks for your comment and you're welcome!

I also hope to read Skogen#2 in the near future as I haven't seen that one myself (except the interviews Sascha sent me)!

Skogen # 2 will be available by this weekend! Most likely around Friday I'll send the link to Velkaarn. I did make one embarrassing error in my forward for #3, misspelled Sascha's name at least three times due to the fact that when I edited the spelling errors, I forgot to fix his name. Anyway, I must say after pulling out Skogen # 2 after all these years I forgot just how good it was. It doesn't have the humor # 3 has(still has some shit talking between bands, see Fleurety vs Mysticum, hehe) but it has lots of in-depth interviews with some really cult classic bands like Sorhin, Vergelmer, Malignant Eternal, Strid, Thornium, and more! Also, alot of interesting articles only the way Sascha can make them. I'll be back soon!

Very cool, thank you Argus Monitor. I've stated here before that print pubs are indelible history documents that capture a time period in a way no digital (read: internet) method can.

A recent pub posting here at AC evidenced how both informative and naive things were at the time. Terrific stuff. Thanks everyone.

@Argus:

That is great news! Personally I'm very interested in that issue as the roster of bands is more to my liking. Thank you for taking the time to contribute with the scans!

@king:

You're welcome and quite right, there's a special aura to a fanzine that cannot be recaptured by internet publications and the like. Scans come closest to the real thing, naturally.

Argus, Velkaarn - you are Gods!

can not wait until Skogen 2 is scanned... Strid are kings. the past is alive...

@Argus:

Thanks once again, I've got #2 now! Hmm, that was interesting information about your label! Some quite obscure releases I see, being limited to 1000 copies each I suppose they are long sold out.

Kurgan kirjoitti...

Argus, Velkaarn - do you intend to share Skogen 2 through Asmodian Coven? I pray for "YES" answer...

Velkaarn kirjoitti...

@Kurgan:

Yes, quite soon!

Kurgan kirjoitti...

hail.

i do not mean to be pushy, sorry about that. Skogen 3 was perfect to venom these black solitary winter nights. is the plan to share issue 2 still valid, taking into consideration the recent megaupload story? if so, when can we expect that?

thank you!

Velkaarn kirjoitti...

@Kurgan:

The Megaupload debacle has caused me plenty of problems and slowed other things down. I plan to upload some other things first so I'd say Skogen #2 will take till the end of month/start of February.

Velkaarn, merci!
