It's time for a repost, I don't do these often but now I feel like I had to. And it's kind of fitting to do a twin post on 9/11 isn't it? To the point, here are contributions sent the other day to me by Henri Sorvali, superior rips to these two demos already uploaded here and here. Thank you, Henu! He also sent me much missed cover scans for both. He sent a bunch of other stuff too, so expect to see more in near future.

I've pretty much said what I thought about these recordings in the old posts so I'm not going to repeat myself more than stating that "Mustan syvyyden tuulet..." is still one of my favourite Finnish demos and both are recommended. They sound a little bit cleaner this time around. Oh yeah, it's necessary to mention that the "Minä olen tie" version here features an intro and outro left off the cassette release back in the day. Henu got these tracks directly in .wav format from the band and decided to include them, which I naturally appreciate! And that's about it, grab 'em already, even if you have the old versions.

Unhola - Beetlehemin Saasta demo 1996

Unhola - Beetlehemin Saasta demo I 1996
1) Beetlehemin Saasta
2) Täältä Tullaan Kuolema

Here's another contribution by brother Grev, the long-sought first Unhola demo. He didn't dub me this one, this is a rip he got from someone back whenever. So thanks to both Grev and the unknown person. No cover scan, unfortunately, so I'm still looking for that. And an original copy of the demo.

You might remember the 1995 rehearsal tape of basically same name I posted here. This demo is a different recording and my favourite Unhola track "Täältä Tullaan Kuolema" has evolved to Finnish lyrics and almost to its final form, there are little differences to the version on "Mustan Syvyyden Tuulet" demo II. Once again the vocals sound different from their other demos, this time around they're more in the traditional black metal screaming style but with a demented touch. Unfortunately the sound is a bit challenging as it is very muffled and a little murky in general. Don't know how much of it has to do with the rip itself which I decided not to tamper with. So I repeat my desire to grab an original copy of this demo. It's not otherwise that bad and certainly listenable, you just need to adjust the volume and your mindset while listening. The music itself is highly enjoyable and I'll recommend the demo if you enjoyed the other Unhola material and/or melodic black metal with rough sound.

Unhola - Beetlehemin Saasta... Rehearsal 1995

Unhola - Beetlehemin Saasta... Rehearsal Tape 1995
1)
Mustan Syvyyden Tuulet
2) We Bring Thy Garden
3) Beetlehemin Saasta

Reuploaded

Today's second post is again a contribution, this one from brother Grev, thanks! If you've paid any attention to the side of the page you might've noticed I've been on the look for the first Unhola demo since the beginning of written history and it has steadily evaded me. And still it does, for this recording I got from brother Grev is a rehearsal tape recorded before the demo itself (as far as I know). Note that both of the tracks from the demo appear here as well, "We Bring Thy Garden" is "Täältä Tullaan Kuolema" with different, English lyrics. Musically it appears to be mostly similar. No covers for this one.

Ok, so this is a rehearsal tape and you know what to expect, right? There are some minor flaws and errors and the sound quality is uneven, that can't be helped. Overall it has a good rehearsal sound though and everything is quite audible. They have some problems getting the last track started, that's why the lenght (22:13 of which 10:09 is the last one). I like older Unhola and rehearsal tapes very much so naturally I'm all into this but the casual listener might be left unimpressed. Anyways, I recommend you at least try this out if you like older Finnish black metal.

Unhola - Minä Olen Tie demo 1998

Unhola - Minä Olen Tie demo III 1998
1)
Puhtaasti Pahoja
2) Maa, Tuli ja Henki
3) Minä Olen Tie

Get it here.

Here's the third Unhola demo, professionally released by Meathook Productions, the UG cassette label and fanzine run by the Sorvali boys of Moonsorrow back in the late 90s. Mostly the same story as with the previous Unhola demo, got a dub of this from the same source and it was also ripped by my friend Joonas and this is the very rip here.

This demo has a bit improved sound, even if I personally prefer the murky roughness of the previous effort, and a different vocal style by Margoath - not as odd as on the "Inferno" album, but considered unusual then. Overall, I'm more into the 2nd demo but this is recommendable material still.

Link is here.

This is one of my favourite Finnish black metal demos, Unhola's 2nd tape and first one I heard from them. The fourth track "Täältä Tullaan Kuolema" is one of my favourite demo songs ever, I wish they would have put it on the "Inferno" album. Sadly I only got a dub of the original thing from a friend of mine so no proper cover scan (again), have to make to do with the one from Metal Archives which I edited a little. The rip isn't mine either, it was done by my friend Joonas a few years ago... and since I seem to have misplaced the tape, we'll have to make do with that. Got his permission, too.

An intro and four tracks of raw sounding melodic Finnish black metal, 160 kbps and decent sound quality, very good music. Definitely recommended!
