A compilation tape again, this one is from Bulgary but features only Norwegian and Swedish bands. Not that rare back then with the other extremity being of course compilations that featured only domestic bands. Still, it's a shame the Bulgarian guy who made this didn't include a single local band.

The compilation has a bit unusual running time of 70 minutes instead of the more common 60 and 90 minutes, and the A5 booklet with band infos is also a bit unusual. This has of course been scanned & included. Two of the bands do 2 tracks (Beyond Dawn, whose tracks from the 1994 promo are easy to understand, they blend in together - the other is Necromicon, I guess he liked them) and the others contribute one each... well Dark Tranquillity has an intro+song combo, taken from their 1991 demo which is a bit unexpected choice for a compilation made in late 1995. Styles range from the avant gardeish gloom of Beyond Dawn to the melodic black metal of Necromicon to In The Woods... and Helheim's epic norsecore. Nice compilation with a pretty good flow.

Hai dude!

First of all, thanks for this compilation..

I wanted to ask you, is there a shop around, that sells old tapes. I dont mean the ones you have here, or rare ones, generally black metal tapes from the 90's..

Thanks and bravo (congratulations in greek) for this and the site!

Hails & thanks for your comment... hmm I don't really know any shop that would sell larger amounts of 90's black metal tapes - mostly you find them (overpriced) at jewBay or on trade/sell pages of metal forums.

There are a few distros that have had old demos, probably bootlegs of the old tapes, for sale like Primitive Reaction. I'm afraid I'm not able to help much, maybe one of the readers has more recommendations?

About old tapes... I don't believe that any "shop" offers anymore those old legendary tapes...

Thanks anywat for this rip.

Yeah, except for bootleg/re-releases and the very random used one. You've got this one too, don't you G?

thank you for the review. it cost me a lot to make this tape and to distribute it around. anyway, it was sold in more than 800 copies. pretty good for a comp. tape.
why only Swedish and Norwegian bands - cause at that time i listen mostly to Scandinavian bands. I was pretty young :)

@Kingu's Blood:

You're welcome even if it isn't much of a review more like a short description. It was a quite good effort, I liked the flow on the tape. Still, I would've liked it to feature a Bulgarian band or two, there were good bands in the 90's.

But I remember being young too and can see why you would not have listened to them. :)

Neseblod records in Oslo has quite the amount of rare demo's for sale. However, prepare to pay a lot for the cool ones...

I know Neseblod and will never pay their ridiculous prices!
